Construction[ edit ] Stradivari made his instruments using an inner form, unlike the French copyists, such as Vuillaume , who employed an outer form. It is clear from the number of forms throughout his career that he experimented with some of the dimensions of his instruments. Scientists at National Taiwan University have detected trace amounts of aluminum , copper , and calcium in wood from Stradivari violins. Potassium borate borax may have been used to protect against Woodworm. He reports that even when varnish is no longer visible to the human eye on the surface of older violins, it can be detected within the top layers of cells. A lower layer of varnish is found within the topmost wood cells while an upper rests upon the wood. Echard’s findings also suggest that Stradivari used a mixture of common Cremonese resin, oil, and pigment as a varnish, rather than making his own. Echard did not find traces of specialized ingredients such as protein materials, gums, or fossil amber. These results suggest that differences in density differentials in the material may have played a significant role in the sound production of classical violins. A later survey, focused on comparing median densities in both classical and modern violin examples, questioned the role available materials may have played in sound production differences, though it made no comment on variations in density differentials.

Something new on the workbench.. This is another Egmond guitar, made in Holland, by the sub-brand Frima. Other sub-brands such as Lion, Miller, Rosetti, Manhattan and Orpheum to name a few… are better known in the online community, and thus, there is a whole lot more info to find. This particular model mostly resembles an Orpheum 12 string. Two pickups, trapeze tailpiece, 3way-switch on the lower horn..
But the neck is certainly a six string, and some laquer has worn off near the bridge, so I guess it used to have a tremolo-unit of some kind. I got this guitar with no electronics or hardware whatsoever, only the small lower horn pickguard for the 3way-switch which was kept in place by a single small screw. So, the neck and frets are still in top condition and no cracks in the body, just a bit of missing paint from where the bridge and such used to be.
It needs all new hardware, a custom cut pickguard and a bit more electronics as the Egmond Thunder came with only one volume and one tone, but the body has four holes..

The song was later covered by Santana and became a worldwide smash.
But worse was to come. While Fleetwood Mac carried on, to become one of the biggest bands in the world, Green was diagnosed with schizophrenia, a mental illness commonly characterised by hallucinations and paranoia, and spent time in psychiatric hospitals undergoing electroconvulsive therapy in the mid s. The backs of the pickups do not even have any stickers with the part or patent numbers. Instead they are hand scribed most likely done by Jeff Lace when in high school. These models were Fender models and not Squier models. The stratocasters had Fender USA pickups installed and were made for the Japanese market only and not for export. The Squier series were also made available for the Japanese market in October , which incorporated small changes compared to the export Squier series. The large Fender logo of the export Squier series was soon changed to a large Squier logo.

Granted, those are women sharing their experiences, however to be fair, men are experiencing a lot of this as well. Do you find yourself, much like Alice In Wonderland, attempting to peer into or jump through the looking glass, desperate for answers, while the man in your life seems to care less?
